Another icon and American legend has passed away on the heels of Gary Coleman and Dennis Hopper. My 1986 JC Penny Microwave. After 24 years of faithful service, and in the middle of cooking dinner, my microwave just stopped. No power whatsoever.

It was purchased in the summer of 1986 by Sundee’s parents. They had it until 1991 when Sundee moved out of the house. Around 1994 my cheap compact microwave broke, so Sun gave me hers. I’ve been using it ever since. I used it in my house in Florida from 1994 to 2005, then drove it all the way to Colorado where it was my faithful companion from 2005-2010. Until tonight, it is no more.

Good night sweet prince. You will be missed.
