An out of control brush fire came within 100ft of our home yesterday. We grabbed what was most precious to us, packed up two vehicles, and “got the hell out of Dodge.” We contemplated staying but when the wind picked up and the smoke started turning black and really billowing (not pictured), we left. Its a profound choice, packing your life to the contents of two vehicles. When you have an hour to grab what’s most precious to you what do you take and what do you leave behind?
