So I rented a bike and discovered I loved to ride in the mountains. Something about it out here gets under your skin, like a new addiction, and forces you to live your life to the fullest. All I knew is I had to buy a bike. I searched every dealership and local paper from here to WY and UT for a decently priced bike. I found some FXDs and high mile softails in my price range. I figured that buying a bike would save me a couple of grand in rentals and I’d be all set when Sean visits in August for our Week Long Grand Canyon Road Trip. After all why throw $2000 at rentals when you can put it down on your own bike?
So I settled on a 2005 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy 15th Anniversary edition from the local dealership. Its a nice looking bike and was a good value. It was barely ridden and in excellent condition and had all of its maintenance accounted. Maybe some day it will be a collectors item.
